OBJECTIVE

This Emergency Plan aims to establish the necessary actions to prevent all types of risks for both guests and staff, and to ensure that, in case of an accident or emergency, the situation is quickly neutralized using internal and external resources as needed, and to guarantee a safe evacuation of all occupants if necessary.

ALERT AND ALARM SIGNALS

  • Emergency Alert Signal: Activated when a potential emergency is detected. All personnel involved in the plan must remain alert and await further instructions.
    Signal:Whistle

  • General Alarm Signal: Indicates immediate evacuation of the building by all occupants.
    Signal:Siren

EMERGENCY ACTION GUIDELINES

Calling External Emergency Services

  • If needed, Reception staff must immediately call the Fire Department and/or other emergency services.

  • Upon arrival, they will be briefed on the situation and maintained in direct contact for coordination.

Alarm Signal

  • If there is potential danger to guests, activate the General Alarm Signal to begin evacuation immediately.

  • The designated person must put on the yellow vest for easy identification by guests.

Evacuation

  • Once the General Alarm Signal is activated, staff must organize the evacuation of guests to predesignated assembly points outside, following the Evacuation Plan.

First Aid

  • If there are injured or ill individuals, provide first aid using the supplies available in the establishment.

  • If necessary, Reception must call for medical assistance or request an ambulance.

Neutralizing the Emergency

  • Organize rescue, evacuation, and fire-fighting operations using available personnel and equipment, without taking unnecessary risks, until emergency services arrive.

  • Upon receiving an emergency notice, gather specific information (what is burning and where, extent of the damage, any injuries or people trapped, etc.) and report to the Emergency Plan Director.

  • In the Director’s absence, the following actions may be taken depending on the situation:

    • Activate Emergency Alert for service personnel.

    • Activate General Alarm Signal for evacuation if needed.

    • Call Fire Department and/or other external services.

    • Provide aid to victims and act to neutralize the emergency using available resources, without unnecessary risk.

    • In case of bomb threats or explosion risk, immediately inform the Emergency Plan Director. If not possible, contact the police and assess whether to evacuate the building immediately.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

Alert Signal

  • Activated upon the Emergency Plan Director’s request (or on own initiative in their absence).

  • Must remain reachable at all times during the emergency and relay instructions to all staff.

Calling Emergency Services

  • When calling, stay calm and concise. Provide the exact address and all relevant information regarding the situation.

Alarm Signal

  • Activated by the Director (or in their absence, by the person in charge, if deemed necessary).

  • Immediately put on the yellow vest for easy identification by guests.

Evacuation

  • Ensure the evacuation follows the established Evacuation Plan as soon as the General Alarm is triggered.

First Aid

  • Confirm that first aid is administered to the injured using available equipment. Call for medical support or ambulances if needed.

Neutralization of Emergency

  • If no service staff are available, Reception staff will carry out rescue, evacuation, and fire-fighting using the building’s resources, without taking unnecessary risks.

END OF EMERGENCY

Once normal conditions are restored, follow all instructions issued by the Emergency Plan Director.

NIGHT SHIFT RECEPTIONIST DUTIES

  • In the event of an emergency, immediately contact the Emergency Plan Director for instructions.

  • If contact is not possible, or if the emergency is urgent, call external emergency services.

  • Activate the alarm signal and coordinate evacuation from Reception.

  • Shut off electrical power.

ALL OTHER STAFF

Emergency Detection

  • Anyone discovering an emergency or serious risk must immediately inform Reception, remain calm, avoid shouting, and not cause panic.

  • Clearly describe the situation: what is burning and where, extent of damage, whether there are any injured or trapped persons, etc.
